Situated in the heart of Gujarat, Ahmedabad has a rich, historic and cultural character like none other. A French traveller, Taverniere, visiting the town in the 18th century, described it as the headquarters of manufacturing, the greatest city in India and nothing inferior to Venice.
Deeply rooted in tradition, Ahmedabad is known for its association with the very famous Mahatma Gandhi. Ahmedabad is home to a hundreds of temples, mosques and other pilgrim spots, depicting various forms for rich culture, art and heritage. This intriguing city’s rising HNI and UHNI population has resulted in a lot of developments with respect to infrastructure and lifestyle, thus making it perfect for the launch of TAG Heuer’s Alec Monopoly watch.
The watch is part of the Formula 1 collection and was launched by TAG Heuer together with their retail partner The Golden Time and Luxury Time. The Golden Time is the largest watch retailer in Gujarat. Their four luxurious showrooms in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat offer an ambiance of grandeur and a lovely shopping experience. They sell over 100 national & international brands of watches, jewellery, writing instruments and lifestyle products.
Alec Monopoly is the world-famous street artist who helped with the design of the new models presented to the Ahmedabad customers. The HNI and UHNI living in Ahmedabad are appreciative of the finer things in life and love indulging in luxury products including art. Keeping this in mind, The Golden Time and The Luxury Time scouted for a befitting location for this special event and hosted the same at Mangal Bag Art Gallery. As a tribute to Alec Monopoly, the gallery walls were adorned with impressive street art styled paintings. Guests witnessed a local graffiti artist who created a live painting which was quite engaging. A special contest was also organised wherein the invited guests were asked to let their creative juices flow and design a watch dial of their choice. The winners were given a special gift from the Avant Garde brand TAG Heuer.

An interesting point to note is that TAG Heuer selected Ahmedabad as a destination to launch this special watch in India with only 10 watches available to be sold exclusively.
The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Alec Monopoly edition features a little banker called Monopi wearing a red bandana over his face and throwing green cash across the dial. Alec Monopoly’s instantly recognisable signature is found in the background in yellow, blue and red. The 41 mm watch is presented on a black rubber strap. It also features a unidirectional bezel with a black PVD coating that is engraved with a 60-minute scale.
